Centrifugal Slurry Pump Main Parts

Centrifugal slurry pump are used to transport fluids by the conversion of rotational kinetic energy to the hydrodynamic energy of the fluid flow. The main parts of centrifugal slurry pumps are impeller, suction chamber, pump casing and shaft, etc.
Impeller is one of the most important parts of slurry pump because the rotation of slurry pump impeller would transfer the mechanical energy to slurry.
Suction chamber refers to the space between the suction flange and impeller, which is to draw the slurry to the eye of impeller. The structure of suction has great impact on the performance of quality and NPSH.
Pump casing is the space between the discharge and impeller. It would transfer the dynamic energy of slurry to potential energy. The slurry would be pumped out of pump casing.
Shaft is the used to connect the impeller with motor. Its material is very important because shaft is heavily loaded and the high rotating speed would increase the working temperature.
